ATELIER

Duncan’s design practice is known for effortless gracefulness, with careful use of enduring and beautiful natural materials. His work is expanding nationally with projects ranging in type from residential estates, new villages, hospitality, academic buildings, and wineries, to private chapels, monasteries and sacred gardens. Duncan’s dedication to classical and traditional architecture is disinterested in practicing a history of sentimentalities. Rather, his role is forward-looking, as part of a continuum of tradition from the past to the future, learning and inventing from it, with the serious vision of creating new uses of tradition – and a revived culture of building – based upon sustainable principles, and the foundations of craft, quality & beauty.
